500 New Zealanders every week find out that they have cancer.

If you know anyone who has had cancer (and the odds are that you do) you’ll be aware of the huge physical, emotional and financial impact a cancer diagnosis can have on the person diagnosed as well as on their family and friends.

Anyone, any cancer

The Cancer Society offers free services to help reduce the impact of cancer on those in our community. Our services are available to anyone with any kind of cancer and include:

  • Tailored practical, emotional and financial support from our supportive care team;
  • Wellbeing sessions and community programmes for people with cancer and their whānau;
  • A driving service to transport patients to their chemotherapy or radiation appointments; and
  • Accommodation at Daffodil House and Daffodil Lodge for people from around our region who need a place to stay while they undergo cancer treatment in Ōtautahi Christchurch.

As well as supporting people with cancer in our communities, the Cancer Society works hard to reduce the incidence of cancer by:

  • Funding cancer research; and
  • Raising awareness about ways to reduce cancer risk, such as being SunSmart and Smokefree.

When you purchase a ticket to Too Many Cooks, not only are you getting a fantastic dinner and a great night out, you’re also helping us provide crucial services to those with cancer in our community.
